Grandmaster Ki Jin Chang

Founded by the esteemed Grandmaster Ki Jin Chang and his three brothers, Chang Brothers Taekwondo Academy is a testament to a lifelong commitment to martial arts excellence. Originating from South Korea, the Chang brothers brought their rich martial arts heritage to the United States in 1979. They quickly made their mark, with Grandmaster Chang leading the way in competitive Taekwondo across the Midwest and captivating audiences with dynamic demonstrations.

In 1984, Grandmaster Chang's vision took physical form in our academy, fostering a culture of discipline, community service, and excellence. His distinguished career included coaching at various prestigious levels, notably as the head coach of the U.S. National team in 1995, earning accolades from international Taekwondo leaders.

Grandmaster Chang's commitment extended beyond the dojang; he deeply believed in giving back to the community. His innovative Kick-A-Thon fundraisers significantly supported the Hanover Park Township Pantry, reflecting his dedication to social responsibility. The academy's recognition as Business of the Year in Hanover Park is a testament to this commitment.

Though Grandmaster Chang's journey concluded in 2006, his spirit and teachings continue to guide Chang Brothers Taekwondo Academy, nurturing young minds in the art of Taekwondo and the virtues of life.
